For MedioRail, I recently had the chance to capture something truly special: the construction of a 600 mm steam locomotive. From the very first sparks to the moment everything finally comes together. The photographs have already found their way into several trade magazines, including the German Eisenbahn Kurier. But then came the next question, and that one stopped me in my tracks for a moment:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHow do you turn a relatively small steam locomotive into a film that feels exciting? One that conveys power, emotion, and character?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was a challenge I didn\u2019t hesitate over for a second. Lately, I\u2019ve been diving deeper and deeper into the world of film. Not to leave photography behind, but to expand my work. Because whether I\u2019m shooting stills or moving images, the core remains the same: telling stories through visuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For this trailer, we deliberately chose a script with voice-over. A voice that adds weight to the story, combined with music that builds tension without overpowering it. Together, they create a cinematic atmosphere that makes the machine feel larger than its physical size. Raw, warm, technical, and human all at once. And of course, nature lent a helping hand with the snow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m proud of the result. Moving images are truly a craft of their own, and that\u2019s exactly what makes it so fascinating for me to keep developing myself in this field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
